Post: Pharmacist

Contract Duration: Permanent, initial contract shall be for a period of 1 (one) year.

Department: Medical Services Department

Division: Medical Services

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

The Pharmacist will report to the Senior Medical Services Manager, and is expected to work closely with the Medical and Retail Teams of EyeCare.

 

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES

The Pharmacist is responsible for accurately dispensing medications, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining inventory control, and providing professional advice and quality patient care.

 

SCOPE OF WORK

    • Dispense medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions and regulatory requirements.
    • Provide professional advice on proper medication use, dosage, and potential side effects.
    • Maintain proper documentation and compliance with MFDA and Ministry of Health regulations.
    • Monitor and manage stock levels, expiry dates, and storage conditions of pharmaceuticals.
    • Collaborate with optometrists, ophthalmologists, and healthcare staff for coordinated patient care.
    • Offer advice on over-the-counter eye-care products and general wellness.
    • Support management with reports and operational efficiency.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by the Employer within the work scope.

    • Fluency in written and spoken Dhivehi and English.

    • Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
    • Great organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
    • General computer proficiency and familiarity with inventory systems.
    • Responsible, compassionate, and ethical in conduct.
    • Ability to manage and handle multiple tasks effectively.
    • Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work long or flexible hours when required.
    • Displays professionalism and accountability in patient care.

Entry Requirements
  1. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
    • Diploma or Advanced Certificate in Pharmacy.
    • Valid license to practice as a pharmacist
    • Minimum 2 years of work experience in a similar role.
    • Candidate must be at least 25 years old
