2. WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans in accordance with hospital policies and professional standards.
• Assess patients’ eye health and provide preoperative, postoperative, and general nursing care to ensure safe and effective treatment outcomes.
• Administer medications, eye drops, and treatments as prescribed by ophthalmologists, ensuring correct dosage, timing, and documentation.
• Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, visual acuity, and overall condition, promptly identifying and reporting any abnormalities to the medical team.
• Assist ophthalmologists during clinical procedures and surgeries by preparing patients, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing necessary instruments and support.
• Perform blood withdrawal and other routine preoperative procedures as required for patient assessment and surgical readiness.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients before, during, and after procedures, ensuring a calm and professional care environment.
• Educate patients and their families on eye conditions, surgical procedures, medication usage, postoperative care, and preventive eye health practices.
• Ensure strict adherence to infection control policies, safety standards, and hospital protocols to minimize risks and maintain patient safety.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and continuous patient care.
• Assist in diagnostic tests and clinical assessments as required by the medical team.
• Share workload responsibilities with colleagues to ensure efficient department operations.
• Perform any other duties relevant to the position assigned by the Employer.

4. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
The Registered Nurse will report to the Medical Services Manager and is expected to work closely with Ophthalmologists, Ophthalmic assistants, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals at EyeCare Hospital.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Advanced Diploma in Nursing or relevant field.
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in Hospital, or a relevant field after completion of the Degree.
• Demonstrated competency in performing blood withdrawal, preoperative procedures, and assisting in the operating theatre.
• Experience in the Eye Hospital or surgical settings will be an added advantage.
• Applicants must possess a valid registration and good standing certificate from the Nursing Council in their home country.
• A minimum IELTS score of 5.5 is required for Maldives Nursing Council registration.
